Tokyo Metropolitan Leather Technology Center Taito Branch has taken the lead on primarily performing tests, research, consultations, and guidance activities to contribute to the development of small businesses in Tokyo’s traditional leather, shoe, and footwear industries.

Requested Tests
We perform various tests on raw materials and other products for shoes at the request of Tokyo companies that do not own test and inspection facilities and we also issue Tokyo Metropolitan test laboratory certificates of analysis. Please use us for productivity improvement, quality improvement, and trade stabilization (fee-charging services).
Tests that are not listed in the request test items can be performed after consultation and contracting (fee-charging services).

Technical Guidance
We will provide technical consultation by phone or at our office.
We will guide those who take advantage of our consulting services on solutions to any technical problems that may complicate technical and quality evaluations and quality improvements of shoes, in order to advance technical improvement, productivity improvement, etc. (free services).

Research
We conduct research on evaluation technologies, materials, processing technologies, etc. with a focus on support to the activities for adding values to shoes to meet companies’ and industries’ demands and to address administrative issues.

We have provided test and research results and the latest technological and industrial information by issuing publications or holding seminars (free services).
